Donald Trump Wants 2020 Election Delayed

That was the suggestion from Donald Trump this afternoon. POTUS simply doesn't have the authority to push the November 3 election date.

"Let's be clear: Trump does not have the ability to delay the election".

"It will be a great embarrassment to the United States of America", he tweeted.

Trump's tweet quickly prompted bipartisan condemnation.

President Donald Trump on Thursday floated the idea of delaying the 2020 presidential election while continuing to criticize mail-in voting.

"New York will lead in fighting any of President Trump's efforts to delay the election and deny our right to vote".

Democratic U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan, one of the most liberal members of Congress, called Trump a "fascist" in a tweet stating his opposition to an election delay.

"Universal mail-in voting invites chaos and severe delays in results", Gidley stated.

The remarks were made in a tweet where he railed against "universal mail-in voting".
