The time is now for the Steelers to make an offer on S Jamal Adams

Bradley McDougald was sent over to the Jets in addition to a 2021 first-round pick, a 2022 first-round pick and a 2021 third-round pick in exchange for Adams and a 2022 fourth-round pick. "That's where I hold myself, in that regard".

Adams was dealt Saturday to the Seattle Seahawks for a package that includes two first-round picks.

This is one of those trades where both teams appear to be getting what they desire.

Adams has been angling to be the highest-paid safety in the National Football League but might be willing to stay on his Jets contract, which, at the moment, is a bargain. The outspoken defender requested a trade in June after growing exhausted of waiting for a contract extension offer.

On June 21, a few days after Adams reportedly made the request to leave NY, a video of him saying that he was "trying" to join his hometown Dallas Cowboys surfaced.

Jets coach Adam Gase had previously said he hoped to keep Adams on June 26.

Almost a week after Adams voiced his displeasure, he reportedly demanded a trade from the Jets, ending a long Instagram comment by saying "Maybe it's time to move on!". "We have to figure out a way to get to a good place, which will get him back, in the right spot and ready to go".

Adams noticed Bell's message, and he didn't seem impressed.

Running back Le'Veon Bell took to Twitter expressed this sentiment after news of the trade emerged: "Ppl do all the hootin & hollerin to get you brought in, just to like people weird yooo, the internet got these dudes doin whatever for attention, even when they tell you sh*t they don't believe themselves". Adams, on the other hand, has 273 tackles, two interceptions, six forced fumbles and 25 passes defensed. Adams earned second-team AP All-Pro honors in 2018, and was a first-team selection in 2019, and has also been a Pro-Bowler each of the past two years.

His new team is scheduled to host the Jets on December 13.
