Twitter web app

You can now save tweets as drafts and schedule them for later

Twitter has rolled out the option to save or schedule tweets, natively in the web app. On the desktop version of Twitter, now a calendar icon will also appear after the photo, jiff, poll and emoji, by clicking on which you can schedule any of your tweets.

Now that you have confirmed the publishing date, take a last look over your tweet, you'll notice the tweet window now has your chosen date and time next to your avatar.

Apart from scheduling tweets, Twitter is also adding a new "drafts" feature to Twitter web. Now you can access this feature by logging in your Twitter account on the web.

Twitter is all set to roll out a new feature which will allow the user to schedule the tweets from the web app. However, drafts written in the web app will only sync to other instances of the web app, which means you can not write a draft on the mobile app and open it on the web version of Twitter.

It's been a rough week for Twitter, which, for the first time on Wednesday, fact-checked Donald Trump's tweets, sending the president into a fury that resulted in an executive order to regulate US social media companies. This implies drafts written in Twitter's mobile application will not sync to the web. Tweetdeck also offers a tweet scheduling feature, but it's not something a lot of people use very frequently. This is a great way to ensure you don't lose a thought if it comes at a time when you're not ready to tweet it out. You can then check your drafts under "Unsent tweets" in the compose box, and tweet it whenever you want to.

The scheduled tweets, as well as those in the draft, will remain in the same section, although in separate lists. But now, you can just do it in the main Twitter interface. Many times we wish to post a tweet on the app at the same time or you might want to wish your friends or favourite star on their birthday at twelve. After that, you can create your tweet and when you finish, click on the "Schedule" button.
