While both brands are promoting their offers as gifts to consumers during the sheltering-at-home days of the coronavirus pandemic, Sling actually launched its "Stay in and Sling!" offer back in October.

The list of free programming includes every episode of nine iconic HBO series like "The Sopranos", "Veep", "Six Feet Under", and "The Wire". The free HBO content will be available starting on April 3rd, and you have several ways to watch it.

The network did not indicate how long all of these movies and TV shows will be available for free, though it may end when WarnerMedia launches their HBO Max streaming service. You can also watch the free content online, at HBONOW.com or HBOGO.com.

Also in the mix are 10 documentaries and docuseries, including McMillion$ and The Case Against Adnan Syed.

The #StayHomeBoxOffice campaign is one of several gestures from streaming services and media companies to offer up free programming, extended free trials and early releases to housebound audiences due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The shows will be available on HBO's two current streaming platforms, HBO Go and HBO Now. "If HBO can ease some of that pain and make being confined a little more enjoyable, that's all we're hoping for".
