The Camas School District said in a statement Tuesday that it was placing Camas High School Principal Liza Sejkora on administrative leave while it looked into the post she wrote on her personal Facebook page on January 26, KGW-TV reported.

Sejkora deleted her comments shortly after she posted them and said they "missed (her) intent", the Camas-Washougal Post-Record reported. Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people died that day in a helicopter crash in California. In response to the post, Snell said, "I don't support it".

Sejkora faced backlash for her comments.

"It's true but I think it's also because Gigi wanted to see certain players, and she was into it", Leslie said.

Per the Columbian, Camas School District Superintendent Jeff Snell issued a statement Tuesday that Sejkora had been put on leave "in light of threats to..."

The school district said that Sejkora, who has led the high school since 2017, had been receiving threats over the post. You know, it is one thing if it is another student or someone else said that, I would still have the same feelings. Later, on February 3 she wrote to the school's families that she wished "to apologize for suggesting that a person's death is deserved". Prosecutors dropped the criminal case September 1, 2004, after the accuser decided not to testify.

"Our priority is always the safety of our students and staff", wrote Snell, who will take over for Sejkora during her leave. "It was inappropriate and tasteless", and called it "a personal, visceral reaction". Many students at Camas High School will stage a walkout in protest of her actions. "Students and staff deserve to have a learning environment free of disruptions". "Even if there's a few times that we've been at a club at the same time, Kobe's not the kind of guy, never been, like, 'Lis, go get that girl, or tell her, or send her this.' I have other National Basketball Association friends that are like that". But when you are a public figure and people look up to you and you are the principal of a school full of kids and you say something like that? Bryant released a statement, negotiated by lawyers, in which he recognized the woman did not view their sexual encounter as consensual and later settled a civil lawsuit with the woman.

Snell said that in the time since, many students were put "in a really hard position of either being for or against Dr. Sejkora and that's not fair to you". "I've learned an important lesson and I hope that I can earn your trust back".
