Xiaomi’s new smartwatch looks suspiciously like an Apple Watch

Xiaomi's Apple Watch clone with Wear OS shows off its unoriginal design ahead of launch

Alongside its leading share of the fitness tracker market thanks to the incredibly low-cost Mi Band series, the Chinese phone maker is also behind sister company Huami, well known for the Amazfit line of products - the Amazfit GTS too could pass for the Apple Watch's long-lost cousin, in case you were wondering. Photos of the smartwatch have leaked which shows a design that is very similar to the Apple Watch.

We knew that Xiaomi might be working on a WearOS smartwatch, which was possibly to be named the MiWatch back in September. Xiaomi Mi Watch will be available in two colour options of black and silver. To put it bluntly: it's looks just exactly like an Apple Watch but it will probably be half the price.

In fact, the image (which you can see below) looks remarkably similar to the design of the Apple Watch with a square watch face and rotating crown on the right hand side. There's a phone icon and a chat icon on the left, meaning the Mi Watch could be able to make and receive calls as well as texts. In terms of the operating system, it is speculated to run on Google's Wear OS. It also revealed more information about the camera capabilities of its upcoming flagship smartphone called the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, which we're expecting to be sold globally as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10.
